Permanently closed

WARREN

The owner of the Rose Spa on state Route 5 in Braceville Township has agreed to permanently abate the nuisance created by the spa as a result of the prostitution that took place there.

Ted Kolacz of Charlestown Road, Newton Falls, agreed to close the spa temporarily several weeks ago, but the closing became permanent Friday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.

Chris Becker, an assistant Trumbull County prosecutor, said Kolacz agreed that he will no longer operate a massage parlor at the site.

Kolacz agreed to pay court costs and a $300 fine and operate some other type of business at the site in the future, Becker said.

The agreement will be put in writing next week.

Braceville police boarded up the business April 4 after a raid that followed an investigation.

DUI charge

YOUNGSTOWN

A 41-year-old city woman was charged with driving under the influence after police say a car she was driving sheared off a telephone pole about 1:45 a.m. Friday on the South Side.

Police said a car driven by 41-year-old Stephanie Danley veered off the road in front of 836 Canfield Road and damaged the pole, which had to be repaired.

Danley was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center and charged with DUI after a blood test, a police spokesman said. She also faces an additional charge of failure to control. She was released later in the day from the hospital. There was no record of a court appearance Friday.
