Zion Lutheran Church 3300 Canfield Road, Cornersburg, will host the Eastern Conference of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s Northeast Ohio Synod on Sunday.

A conferencewide confirmation celebration led by Bishop Elizabeth Eaton will be at 2 p.m. followed by a reception.

Bike blessing

Motorcyclists from the Valley may receive a blessing for a safe season at 2 p.m. May 25 at Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. NE.

May is Motorcycle Awareness Month. The event is free and open to all.

Fellowship Baptist Church, 102 Penn Ave., will celebrate the 78th anniversary at 11:30 a.m. Sunday with the Rev. Dennis Garner as guest speaker. The Rev. Larry W. Parker is host pastor.

Memorial Day Mass

St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Villa Marie Road, will celebrate the annual Memorial Day Mass at 9 a.m. May 27 in the cemetery hall. Refreshments will follow.

Blessing at VCC

Motorcyclists will be blessed at 1 p.m. Sunday at Victory Christian Center, 15 Bedford Road. Riders are encouraged to attend a service at 11 a.m. followed by individual bike blessings and a short run. This is the fifth annual event.

Concessions will be available with proceeds benefiting programs at the Riot, Victory’s youth ministry building.

Oak Missionary Baptist Church, 320 Elk St., will mark its 77th year on Sunday. Sunday school is at 9 a.m. and worship at 10:45 a.m.

At the celebration at 3:30 p.m., guests will be members of St. Peter’s Baptist Church, where the Rev. James Holmes is pastor.

Guest speakers will be the Rev. Dr. Eugene Schoolfield of St. Andrewes African Methodist Episcopal Church. The Rev. D.H. Anderson is pastor.

The Generations of Faith program at St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., will celebrate the feast of Pentecost and May as the month dedicated to the Blessed Mother with an intergenerational event Sunday. The event will include a luncheon, a birthday cake and the formation of a rosary of helium-filled balloons that will be launched. The program will be at 11:30 a.m. after the 10 a.m. Mass.

The 75th anniversary of founding and new church consecration of St. John’s Orthodox Church, 3180 Morefield Road, will be at 9 a.m. today with Bishop Gregory of the American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese of the USA as main celebrant. A Hierarchical Divine Liturgy will follow.

A banquet will be at 2 p.m. at the Park Inn by Radisson in West Middlesex, Pa. Speaking will be Archon Steven Lukac, church board president; the Rev. Kenneth Bachofsky, dean of Youngstown Deanery; the Rev. Michael Polanichka, pastor emeritus of St. John’s; and the Rev. David Mastroberte, St. John’s. The main address will be given by Bishop Gregory of Nyssa.
