Pizza delivery man in Warren is robbed

WARREN

A 26-year-old Warren man delivering pizza for Pizza Hut was robbed at gunpoint at 11:48 p.m. Wednesday on Mason Street Northwest.

The worker said he was called to 1030 Mason to deliver three pizzas. Three people were on the porch, so he approached them. One pointed a gun at him, while the two others grabbed the money from his pants and the pizza, all valued at about $100, and fled on foot.

Police investigated other pizza delivery robberies in recent months — one on Scott Street Northeast March 1 and one on nearby Porter Street Northeast March 5.

Pickup truck stolen

WARREN

Franklin D. Fleming Jr., 53, of Oak Street in Youngstown, will be arraigned today in Warren Municipal Court on charges related to a stolen pickup truck from Cafe 22, 2006 Youngstown Road SE.

Police said Fleming stole a pickup truck and crashed it minutes later on Adelaide Avenue Southeast. The truck belonged to a 61-year-old Hazelwood Road Southeast man.

The theft occurred at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday. Police said they chased Fleming through back yards near the Adelaide Avenue residence before capturing him.

Woman reports assault

A 29-year-old Oak Knoll Avenue Southeast woman reported being assaulted in the head about 10 times during a domestic dispute with her ex-boyfriend at her home early Thursday.

David Redd, 27, of Transylvania Avenue Southeast, will be arraigned today in Warren Municipal Court.

The woman, who suffered minor injuries, said Redd broke into her home at 12:46 a.m. and found her hiding in the bathroom, assaulted her several times there, then started to leave but came back and assaulted her several more times in a bedroom.

Warren man assaulted

WARREN

A 20-year-old man living at a residence in the 1100 block of Main Avenue Southwest received an apparent minor injury from being assaulted during a break-in at the home at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday.

The man went to St. Joseph Medical Center for treatment. Police said a handgun and two boxes of ammunition were stolen.

Kidnapping in Warren

A 34-year-old Summit Street Northwest woman reported being robbed, beaten and kidnapped while she was walking in the 900 block of Dietz Road at 3:11 a.m. Thursday.

The woman said two men forced her into their vehicle and dropped her off a short time later with an apparent minor injury.

Boil advisory lifted

HUBBARD

The boil-water advisory issued Tuesday for Tamarack Drive in Hubbard Township was lifted Thursday.

Tests were conducted, and the water has met all Environmental Protection Agency standards, and therefore declared safe for consumption, according to a release from the Trumbull County Sanitary Engineer’s office. For information, contact the office at 330-675-2775.

Tuition change sought

Ohio Republicans want to force universities to offer in-state tuition to out-of-state students who request documents from the schools in order to register to vote in Ohio.

Republicans in the House have included the provision in the state budget now being considered in the Senate. They say they’re trying to streamline the system.
