OSHP: Fog contributed to multivehicle crash in western Ohio

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol says as many as 20 vehicles crashed in a pileup on Interstate 70 in western Ohio.

A dispatcher says some injuries were reported, but she did not know how serious they were.

Authorities believe dense fog contributed to the crashes in Clark County near Springfield. The dispatcher says the pileup occurred near an exit to a large area flea market where traffic had backed up near Ohio 41.

The crashes were reported about 7 a.m. today. The patrol was still working to clear the accidents more than two hours later and a portion of eastbound I-70 was shut down.
