Cornersburg Dairy Queen honored mothers May 11 by offering cake decorating and a coupon for Mother’s Day. The opportunity to decorate personalized cakes from Dairy Queen drew people from many areas in the community.

Children had the option of surprising their mother by decorating a cake for them or using the event as a chance to spend time with their mothers and decorate the cake together.

“We have offered this event every Mother’s Day and Father’s Day for the past five years,” said Chrissy Smith of the Cornersburg Dairy Queen. “It’s for kids of all ages, even teenagers and if moms want to do it, too, they are welcome. Drawing a personal picture on your Dairy Queen cake makes it special because it’s from you.”

Curly the Dairy Queen cone was also available for pictures, high-fives and to inspire decoration ideas.
