Arrests in New Orleans parade shootings cheered

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Bond has been set at more than $10 million for the second of two brothers facing attempted second-degree murder charges in the Mother’s Day shooting spree that broke out during a neighborhood parade in new Orleans.

Twenty-four-year-old Shawn Scott was arrested Thursday, the day after his brother Akein Scott was arrested in the case.

Authorities initially said Shawn Scott would make his first court appearance this morning, but court records show his $10 million bond was set Thursday evening.

Three people were critically wounded in the shootings. The leader of the organization that stages the annual parade in New Orleans’ 7th ward says he’s ecstatic about the arrests. The group plans to march again on June 1.
