The summer concert season is near with seemingly every band that has achieved any level of success over the past three decades hitting the road. Naturally, the calendar lists touring stalwarts such as the Dave Matthews Band and Kenny Chesney, alongside newcomers fun., Of Monsters and Men and Kendrick Lamar. Take a look at what shows are coming to the area:
COVELLI CENTRE

Megadeth, with Black Label Society, 7 p.m., July 10, $35, $45, $55. The Gigantour also includes Device, Hellyeah, Newsted and Death Division.
Daughtry and 3 Doors Down, 7 p.m., July 29, $35, $45, $55. It remains to be seen how 3 Doors Down bassist Robert Harrell’s charges of vehicular homicide and unlawful possession of a controlled substance will affect the rock band’s summer co-headlining tour. Daughtry is supporting the gold- certified album “Break The Spell,” while 3 Doors Down recently released its first greatest-hits package.
Pat Benatar with Neil Girolamo, 7 p.m., Aug. 16, $36.50, $46.50, $62.50. Expect to hear Benatar’s many hits from the ’80s, including “Heartbreaker.”

Tim McGraw with Brantley Gilbert & Love and Theft, 7 p.m. May 31, $26 to $65.75. Country superstar Tim McGraw is back on the road with his “Two Lanes of Freedom Tour.”
Dave Matthews with JD McPherson, 7 p.m. June 1, $40.50 to $75. The jam-band-esque DMB is touring its latest album, “Away from the World,” which entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1. This means the Dave Matthews Band is the first group in chart history to have six-consecutive studio albums debut atop the chart.
Kenny Chesney with Eli Young Band and Kacey Musgraves,SFlb7 p.m. June 20, $39.50 to $79.50. No shoes, no shirt, no problem for Kenny Chesney’s “No Shoes Nation Tour,” which finds the country-music superstar supporting his latest effort, “Life on a Rock.”
Rascal Flatts with The Band Perry and Cassadee Pope, 7 p.m. June 28, $36 to $76. Since the turn of the century, Rascal Flatts has sold more than 21 million albums, 25 million digital downloads and recorded 14 No. 1 hits. The superstar act with ties to Columbus also has been the most-awarded country group of the past decade.
Kid Rock with Kool & The Gang and Uncle Kracker, 7 p.m. July 2, $20. Detroit native Kid Rock is helping out his fans by slashing ticket prices for his summer tour with promised reductions in parking and the beer line.
Jonas Brothers, 7 p.m. July 16, $33 to $102. Remember a few years ago when the frenzy surrounding the Jonas Brothers was similar to seeing The Beatles in 1964? Now the sibling act is testing the water to see if its tween audience still cares.
Train with The Script and Gavin DeGraw, 7 p.m. July 17, $35 to $75.
The Warped Tour, noon, July 18, $34.50. This year’s lineup includes headliners Motion City Soundtrack, Allstar Weekend and The Early November.
Toby Keith with Kip Moore, 7 p.m. July 19, $24.25 to $89. If you’re ever in Las Vegas, Toby Keith’s restaurant and bar has really good fries. In other Keith news, the country rocker returned late last year with his latest album, “Hope on the Rocks.” Now he’s touring. Seriously though, really good fries.
Heart with Jason Bonham Led Zeppelin Experience, 7:30 p.m. July 22, $35 to $99.50. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame act is making the most out of its publicity with a summer headlining tour. Who knew the Sisters Wilson released Heart’s 14th studio album, “Fanatic,” last year?
Big Time Rush with Victoria Justice, 7 p.m. July 31, $16.50 to $69.50. It’s going to be a summertime screamfest when Nickelodeon’s multiplatinum-selling superstars Big Time Rush joins forces with actress-singer Victoria Justice.
Blake Shelton with Easton Corbin and Jana Kramer, 7 p.m. Aug. 1, $25 to $54.75. Sometimes it’s hard to remember that Blake Shelton is more than a coach on “The Voice.” The Grammy Award-winning country singer returns to the road in support of his brand-new effort, “Based on a True Story.”
John Mayer with Phillip Phillips, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 6, $36 to $69.50. After running his mouth off and becoming persona non grata in the public eye, which these days is hard to do, John Mayer is on the comeback trail.
Lil Wayne with T.I and 2 Chainz, 8 p.m. Aug. 7, $29.75 to $89.75. Lil Wayne keeps up his prolific ways with his 10th studio album, “I Am Not a Human Being 2,” which is being billed as a loose sequel to his 2010 effort, “Love Me.”
Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley with Brett Eldredge and Gwen Sebastian, 7 p.m. Aug. 10, $25 to $49.75. Lambert is touring her latest effort, “Four the Record,” while Bentley is supporting his 2012 effort, “Home.”
Jason Aldean with Jake Owens and Thomas Rhett, 7:30 p.m., Aug. 23, $25.50 to $55.25. Aldean is hitting the road with his buddies Jake Owens and Thomas Rhett this summer.
Maroon 5 with Kelly Clarkson and Rozzi Crane, 7 p.m. Aug. 26, $29.50 to $99.50. Maroon 5 kept its platinum streak intact with new album “Overexposed.”
Keith Urban with Little Big Town and Dustin Lynch, 7 p.m. Sept. 12, $35 to $75. After spending the spring dealing with divas Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj on “American Idol,” country superstar Keith Urban is getting back to what he does best.

If you grew up in the ’90s and are a female, odds are you’ll be interested in The Package Tour featuring NKOTB, 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men. For those guys dating or married to that aforementioned female, this is the perfect time to schedule that boys weekend in Vegas.
Tom Petty and Heartbreakers, 7:30 p.m. June 20, $28.50 to $114.25. This classic-rock staple, which was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in 2002, just keeps touring.
Bruno Mars with Ellie Goulding, 7:30 p.m. July 12, $38 to $80. Like a grenade exploding on the pop scene in 2010, Bruno Mars quickly has established himself as THE songwriter of this generation.
One Direction, 7:30 p.m. July 8, $28 to $75.75. Let the screaming commence as heartthrob U.K. sensations One Direction comes stateside this summer.
The Eagles, 8 p.m. July 23, $37.25 to $185.75. Interest in this classic-rock act has been piqued of late with the airing of its self-produced documentary on Showtime, which recently was released on DVD.
Muse with Cage the Elephant, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8, $33.25 to 56.75. The English band Muse has become one of the more popular live acts over the past five years.

Kendrick Lamar with special guests Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock and Ab-Soul, 8 p.m. June 4, $29.50 to $39.50. Rap star du jour Kendrick Lamar’s massive summer tour is in support of his sophomore album, “Good Kid, M.A.A.d. City,” which has sold nearly a million copies.
O.A.R. with Andrew McMahon and Allen Stone, 6:30 p.m., July 7, $33.50. Similar to a Timex watch, O.A.R. is a group that just keeps ticking. Year in, year out the island-based jam band keeps touring and intermittently releasing new albums. Its latest is the concert recording “Live on Red Rocks.”
Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson, 7 p.m. June 13, $45 to $60. It’s the shock-jock tour people — well, some people — have been waiting the past 15 years for. Alice Cooper is teaming up with Marilyn Manson for the “Masters of Madness Tour.” Just think of the eye-liner bill.
Peter Frampton with Robert Cray, 7 p.m. June 22, $27.50 to $75.Two years ago Peter Frampton went on tour to celebrate the 35th anniversary of his multiplatinum “Frampton Comes Alive!” album. The outing was such a success he’s kept the momentum going in the form of the Frampton Guitar Circus.
“Kings of the Mic” featuring LL Cool J, Ice Cube, De La Soul and Public Enemy, 7 p.m. June 25, $27.50 to $85. Invariably, 20 years ago a hip-hop bill like this wasn’t even possible as rap acts rarely hit the road. Today, the lucrative smell of cash finds these influential performers joining forces. While Public Enemy recently was inducted into the Rock Hall, odds are LL Cool J will be taking a similar path sooner than later.
fun. with Tegan and Sara, 8 p.m. July 9, $35 to $45. The year of fun. continues with the platinum and Grammy Award-winning act hitting the road on one of the summer’s hottest bills. So far, the “We Are Young” and “Some Nights” outfit has been selling out venues around the nation.
Steely Dan, 7 p.m. July 23, $38.50 to $99.50. Walter Becker and Donald Fagen are restarting Steely Dan for the “Mood Swings 2013: 8 Miles To Pancake Day Tour.” The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee jazz act will be playing tunes from its four-decade catalog.
Chicago, 8 p.m. July 24, $26 to $36. The baby boomers’ favorite brass-fueled rock act Chicago, which is the only American band to chart a top-40 album in six decades, is back again this summer. Here’s a word to the wise: Don’t bring up the ’80s Peter Cetera-led years to die-hard Chicago fans. Apparently, he wasn’t a hard habit to break.
Imagine Dragons, 7:30 p.m. July 30, $34.50 to $39.50. Over the past year, new rock act Imagine Dragons landed in the mainstream with its debut effort “Night Visions.” The album’s lead single, “It’s Time,” was a major radio hit, while the second single, “Radioactive,” is a bona fide smash.
Daughtry and 3 Doors Down, 7 p.m. Aug. 3, $32.50 to $75.
The Beach Boys, 8 p.m. Aug. 4, $30 to $75. Wouldn’t it be nice if they both could just get along? The era of Beach Boys detente is apparently over. Last year the band’s two factions united for a reunion tour. This year, Brian Wilson is taking out his band, while Mike Love is bringing out The Beach Boys.
The Killers, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5, $47.50. Last summer, The Killers released the anthemic single “Runaways.” Not only did the song not do much on radio, but the band’s “Battle Born” album fell flat. Now the Las Vegas act is hoping to generate interest in the project with a summer tour.
Ke$ha with Mike Posner and Semi Precious Weapons, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 9, $35 to $59.50. For a sign Cleveland’s concert market has diminished, look no further than Ke$ha, who is touring this summer with Pitbull. However, that high-profile outing is bypassing the Rock Hall City. Instead, Ke$ha, who has seven consecutive top-10 hits including four No. 1 singles with “TiK ToK,” “Your Love Is My Drug,” “We R Who We R” and “Die Young,” comes to Northeast Ohio for a solo show.
Tedeschi Trucks Band with JJ Grey & Mofro, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13, $25 to $75. The high-powered blues combination of Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi has made the Tedeschi Trucks Band one of the genre’s more compelling live acts. For proof, just listen to the explosive concert recording “Everybody’s Talkin’.”
The Moody Blues, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 29, $29.50 to $79.50. The Moody Blues changed music forever when in 1967 it introduced a symphonic element into its rock sound. Now 45 years after the release of its groundbreaking album, “Days of Future Passed,” the act is celebrating with a new tour.

Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, 7:30 p.m. June 7. Rising pop-rock act Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros is touring its sophomore effort, “Here.” The Los Angeles act’s latest album was ranked No. 7 on Rolling Stone’s Best Albums of 2012 list.
Ralph Stanley, 7:30 p.m. June 8. The bluegrass legend will be in the Steel City for Bluegrass Day featuring performances by Allegheny Drifters, Mon River Ramblers and Great American Taxi. A second stage features performances by The Unknown String Band and the Shelf Life String Band.
Cello Fury with special guests Joy Ike and Scott Blasey of the Clarks, 7:30 p.m. June 9. Pittsburgh’s own Cello Fury will be playing its fusion of rock and classical music.
Grupo Fantasma, 7:30 p.m. June 11. The Grammy award-winning Latin funk band is still touring in support of its latest effort, 2010’s “El Existential.”
Glen Hansard, 7:30 p.m. June 12.SFlbAcclaimed The Swell Season and The Frames singer-songwriter, Glenn Hansard, is best known for his song “Falling Slowly.” He also appeared in 1990s film “The Commitments.”
Lucius, 7:30 p.m. June 13. The Brooklyn, N.Y., indie-pop band’s video for “Go Home” recently won Best Animation at the 4th annual Music Video Film Festival Band Battle.
Red Baraat, 7:30 p.m. June 14. For World Music Day, the pioneering bhangra and brass celebration music of Red Baraat will be featured. Jontre will open the show.
The Airborne Toxic Event, 7:30 p.m. June 15. The Los Angeles band is touring in support of its latest release, “Such Hot Blood,” which includes radio hit “Timeless.”
The Blind Boys of Alabama, 7:30 p.m. June 16. Gospel-music legends The Blind Boys of Alabama have recorded with everyone from Ben Harper and Peter Gabriel to Prince and George Clinton.

Fleetwood Mac, 8 p.m. June 15, $49.50 to $149.50. Even though it seems like Fleetwood Mac has broken up only to reunite time and time again, the reality is the classic-rock act often just takes some time off. Having last toured in 2009, Fleetwood Mac — Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks — are back in action in 2013.

“Stay Trippy Tour” with Juicy J and A$AP Ferg, 7 p.m. May 19, $22. Veteran rapper Juicy J brings his “Stay Trippy Tour” to Pittsburgh. Opening for the Three 6 Mafia alum is rapper de jour A$AP Ferg.
Fall Out Boy, 7 p.m. May 21. 14, $35. After taking a break for a few years, Fall Out Boy is back in action in 2013 with new album “Save Rock and Roll.” It should be pointed out if anyone is going to save Rock ’n’ roll, odds are it’s not going to be Fall Out Boy.
Kendrick Lamar with special guests Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock and Ab-Soul, 6:30 p.m. June 3, $40.
Passion Pit, 7 p.m. June 6, $32. Passion Pit turned a few heads with its unique indie sound a few years back. Now the Massachusetts-based, Michael Angelakos-led act is working its 2012 effort, “Gossamer, which continues to showcase the band’s pop stylings.
Flag, 7 p.m. June 7, $23.60. This band features former Black Flag members Keith Morris, Chuck Dukowski, Bill Stevenson and Dez Cadena, as well as Descendents guitarist Stephen Egerton.
Cold War Kids, 7 p.m. June 8, $23.50. Inspired by punk and soul, Cold War Kids recently released its latest effort, “Dear Miss Lonelyhearts.” The band’s fourth studio album features single “Miracle Mile.”
Silversun Pickups with Surfer Blood and Blondfire, 7 p.m. June 9, $25. Los Angeles’ alternative-sounding rock act Silversun Pickups followed up its previous effort, “Swoon,” with the brand-new “Neck of the Woods,” which contains the shoegazing single “Blood Mary [Nerve Endings].”
The National, 7 p.m. June 11, $29.50. Formed in Cincinnati and currently living in Brooklyn, The National is currently touring its latest effort, “Trouble Will Find Me.”
Of Monsters and Men, 7 p.m. June 12, $30. Icelandic act Monsters and Men, which scored a major radio hit with “Little Talks” from its debut album, “My Head Is an Animal,” is touring this summer. The folk-pop-minded outfit is providing a slightly different sound to the ubiquitous Mumford and Sons zeitgeist.

Belle and Sebastian with Yo La Tengo, 7 p.m. July 13, $35. Indie-pop act Belle and Sebastian is back in the states this summer. The Glasglow, Scotland, band is known for unique baroque pop and mellow rock sensibilities.
The Flaming Lips, 6:30 p.m. July 16, $35. Less than three months after opening for the Black Keys in Pittsburgh, The Flaming Lips, touring its latest effort, “The Terror,” returns to the Steel City for a summer headlining date.

Brian Wilson with Al Jardine and David Marks, 6:30 p.m. July 21, $25 to $49. A year after having fun, fun, fun with the Beach Boys reunion tour, the influential songwriter is going on a solo tour with a little help from his friends.
“The Under the Sun Tour 2013” with Sugar Ray, Smash Mouth, Gin Blossoms, Vertical Horizon and Fastball, 6 p.m. July 24, $15 to $30. “The Under the Sun Tour 2013” features a handful of marginally successful ’90s acts reliving the past for Generation X.
The Black Crowes & Tedeschi Trucks Band, 5:30 p.m. Aug 7, $45. Blues fans will have a hard time passing up this high-powered bill featuring two of the more compelling live acts touring today.
“The Good, the Mad and the Lovely Posse Tour” featuring Adam Ant, 7 p.m. Aug. 23, $27.50. Does anyone remember or even care about ’80s and ’90s singer Adam Ant?
