Bond set at $5M for Ohio man charged in 1984 teen death

CLEVELAND (AP) — A judge in Cleveland has set a $5 million bond for a man charged with aggravated murder in the 1984 killing of a 14-year-old girl.

Hernandez Warren was arraigned this morning.

Investigators say DNA evidence linked him to the killing of teenager Gloria Pointer, who went missing while walking to school nearly 30 years ago.

The 58-year-old Warren had earlier served time in prison for rape.

Warren’s defense attorney told The Plain Dealer newspaper that she was denied access to her client by authorities.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy McGinty has said that Warren lived in the same neighborhood as the teen. He was arrested Monday.
