“Angels in America,SDRq directed by Matthew Mazuroski, Oakland Center for the Arts, 220 W. Boardman St., Youngstown, auditions 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday. Harper Pitt, Martin Heller, Roy Cohn, Prior 2, Hannah Pitt, Rabbi Isidor Chemelwitz, Henry and Ethel Rosenburg already have been cast. General audition will include a suggested but not required one- to two-minute monologue; if necessary, callbacks will be cold readings from the script. Most actors will portray multiple roles in the production. Parts to be filled include: Louis Ironson, male, about 30 years old, an anxious and ambivalent appeals-court word processor in Brooklyn; Prior Walter, male, about 30, Louis’ ex-boyfriend; Joe Pitt, Prior 1 and the Eskimo, male, late 20 to 30 years old, a lawyer at the appeals court who struggles with his homosexuality; Belize and Mr. Lies, late 20 to 30 years old, an African-American ex-drag queen and caretaker; and the Angel of America, the voice of the Angel, Emily, Sister Ella Chapter and the Woman in the South Bronx, female, late 20’s, a divine presence who bestows prophecy on Prior. Rehearsals will begin Aug. 1, and performances will be Oct. 4 to 19.
