CAMPBELL

Police arrested three people on drug charges.

Officers were called to the Dairy Queen, 817 McCartney Road, about 7:40 p.m. Monday for a report of people injecting themselves with heroin in a car in the parking lot.

When police pulled up, a woman in the car got out and walked away, and a woman in the front seat was holding a needle that had suspected heroin, police reports said. A man in the driver’s seat also was reaching into his pockets as if to hide something, police reports said.

They then searched the car and found two bags of suspected heroin, four needles, a spoon and $235 in cash.

Arrested were: James Bowker, 25, of Laurel Avenue in New Castle, Pa., on charges of felony possession of drugs, drug-abuse instruments, drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs; Renee Marich, 38, of Huey Street in New Castle, on charges of felony possession of drugs, drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia; and Lara Yates, 40, of Unity Road in Poland, on charges of felony possession of drugs and misdemeanor possession of drugs.

They were all taken to the Mahoning County jail pending their arraignments in municipal court.
