Police say they found seven spent .40-caliber shell casings outside of a 1347 Virginia Trail home after a neighbor reported gunshots about 5:15 a.m. Sunday.
When police arrived they found several vehicles in the driveway and a spent shell casing on the front porch. A quick check revealed six more shell casings in the area around the porch, police reports said.
The homeowner told police his adult daughter was having a birthday party and he had heard no gunfire. Two men and a woman in the house each had cuts and torn or dirty clothes like they had been in a fight but they refused to answer any questions, other than to say some uninvited guests had come but left before police got there.
A car was also struck by gunfire, reports said. No one was injured.
