Pop artist to speak for Scoutreach

YOUNGSTOWN/WARREN

Chris Yambar, pop art painter and comic artist, will share some of his experiences in scouting as well as his craft in drawing and art with children at schools in Youngstown and Warren as part of the Scoutreach Program.

Scoutreach is designed to bring the Scouting program to at-risk youth in urban and rural settings, where it has been difficult to start traditional Cub Scouting and Scouting organizations; and to give the children an opportunity to meet local professional people in the community.

Yambar, who grew up in the Austintown area and participated in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, will speak at Taft Elementary School in Youngstown on Tuesday. He’ll speak at Willard K-8 School in Warren on Wednesday. Scoutreach is sponsored by the Greater Western Reserve Council, Boy Scouts of America.
