PAINESVILLE, Ohio

A victim paralyzed from an Ohio high school shooting that left three teens dead and three wounded has filed a lawsuit against the convicted shooter and the shooter’s family.

Nick Walczak sued 18-year-old T.J. Lane on Thursday in Lake County Common Pleas Court. Lane pleaded guilty in March to aggravated murder and other counts in the February 2012 shooting rampage at Chardon High School. He’s appealing his life sentence.

The lawsuit says Lane shot Walczak while he was sitting in the school cafeteria. His lawsuit seeks more than $25,000 in damages.

The families of the three teens who were killed also filed suits earlier against Lane, his parents and grandparents.

An attorney representing Lane in that lawsuit said he doesn’t know who will represent the defendants in the latest suit.
