Election Update|Brown pulls ahead of McNally in mayor’s race#vindyvote

YOUNGSTOWN— With about half of Youngstown’s precincts counted, Jamael Tito Brown has pulled ahead of John A. McNally IV in the Democratic primary for mayor.

Brown has 1,538 votes, 52.8 percent of the vote, to 1,325 or 45.5 percent of the vote for McNally. However, no precincts from the Fourth Ward, the most populous in the city and considered McNally’s power base have been counted at the Mahoning County Board of Elections.

The proposed antifracking charter amendment is losing, with 1,568 against the measure, 53.1 percent, and 1,387, or 46.9 percent, for it.
