SENIOR CITIZENS


55-Plus Club of Mineral Ridge will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Church. Hostesses are Stella Modorcia and Mary Alice Seaborn. Members will dine out after the meeting and card games.

Ajax Magnethermic Retirees will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Station Square, 4250 Belmont Ave. Guests are welcome.

Cornersburg Happy Seniors will meet at 11:15 a.m. Thursday at A La Cart Catering in Canfield with Betsy Koneval presiding. Entertainment will be provided by The Noteables. Lunch will be served at a cost of $11. Visitors are welcome and may reserve lunch by calling Koneval at 330-793-7755.

Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Don Patchen will give the devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided. Park Vista of Youngstown will welcome author Patrick Hartory as a featured speaker at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Park Vista Gathering Room, 1216 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Hartory is author of the book “Your Ageless Mind.” Hartory will explore his strategies including simple exercises to help prevent Alzheimer’s disease, ways to improve one’s memory for names and details, and diet changes that can help slow mental aging. SOAR 27-2 and 27-6 Steelworkers Retirees Local Union 1330 and 1331 will meet at 1 p.m. Monday at Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Niles-Canfield Road. Refreshments will be served. New members are welcome.

Youngstown State University Retirees’ monthly breakfast will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Das Dutch Haus in Columbiana. All retirees are welcome.
