YOUNGSTOWN

Orders for the Mahoning County Soil and Water Conservation District’s semiannual spring fish sale must be placed by April 19 and be accompanied by payment.

Order forms may be obtained from the Mahoning County SWCD office at 850 Industrial Road, or by calling 330-740-7995. The district website, www.mahoningswcd.org, also has fish-sale information and a form to download.

Species available are fingerling large-mouth bass, channel catfish, bluegill, redear shellcrackers, crappies, perch, minnows and white amur.

Orders will be available for pickup between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. April 25 at the Canfield Fairgrounds Junior Fair building, Coliseum 8.

Buyers must provide 5 to 10 gallons of pond water per 100 fish of each species and 5 gallons of water for every two white amur, which must be separated from other fish. The white amur must be placed in a container with a lid or liner large enough to be tied at the top.

Suggested containers are 30-gallon trash cans lined with trash bags. Restrictions apply for out-of-state residents purchasing fish.
