Haefke numbers remain near the top

Teri Haefke’s 297-300-226 — 823 rattled the Bob’s Bail Bonding League at Wedgewood on March 4.

On any given week, the area’s premier female bowler’s name pops up on or near the top of local leagues, especially in the Wedgewood Ladies Trio League or Bob’s Bail Bonding.

Vincent Harris, wasn’t too shabby, either, when he went from 200 in game two to 300 in game three for 739 in Bob’s Bail Bonding on March 18.

Tammy Diver had the top set of 738 and top three games of 267, 246 and 225 among both men and women in Hively’s Doubles at Amron during Week 26 of 32.

Christine Nims’ 298 was the top game and her 716 represented the Wedgewood Ladies Trio bowler’s first 700 on March 19.

Junior Rodriquez had his first-ever 600 — 600 even — in Sunday Mixed Bankers at Holiday on March 10. Rodriquez’s top game was a season-high 231.

The Calabrette-Bertolette names were side-by-side among 700 series in Taylor Kia/Systems-A-Part, in which Josh Calabrette had 705 and Matt Bertolette 704 at Holiday.

Mahoning Valley Lanes continues unlimited cosmic bowling every Friday and Saturday night from 9-midnight for $9 as well as customer appreciation Wednesdays offering $1 bowling games and 12-inch cheese pizza for $5.

Women’s event

Entries for the 21st Ladies Senior Singles tournament of the Youngstown-Salem Women’s Bowling Association close today.

Sessions for the event at Amron Lanes, Saturday and April 7, are scheduled both days at 2 p.m. and also at 11 a.m. on April 7. Cost is $17 per person for the five-division event for those 55 and over.

Mixed doubles

The 48th annual Youngstown Mixed Doubles bowling tournament will run May 17-25 at Holiday Bowl. The USBC-sanctioned event is sponsored by the Youngstown Bowling Association. Arrowhead Lanes
