Five soap opera stars will attend a special luncheon May 18 at Leo’s Ristorante, 7042 E. Market St. Eric Martsolf (Brady from “Days of Our Lives”), Daniel Goddard (Cane from “Young and the Restless”), and a trio of “All My Children” alumni, Vincent Irizarry (David), Walt Willey (Jackson) and Jacob Young (JR) will meet with fans at the event. The intimate afternoon of fun will include a luncheon, cocktail party, question-and-answer period, and photo and autograph opportunities.

Doors open at 12:45 p.m. for the three-hour event, which begins at 1:30 p.m.

The event is sponsored by Warren natives and sisters Patti Tsagaris-Werynski and Barbie Tsagaris. The two have been staging soap opera events in Florida, where they live. The May 18 show will be their first in the Mahoning Valley.

“We pride ourselves on holding fan- friendly events where you get the chance to get up close and personal with our featured actors,” said Werynski in a press release. “Not only can you get pictures with them and snag that autograph, but with us, you have the opportunity to wine and dine with them as well.”

Attendees might get a chance to dance with a star, act out a scene from a soap opera, and test their soap knowledge to win prizes.

General admission tickets are $64. VIP tickets are $200 and holders can sit at the same table as one of the stars for dinner, attend a pre-party and receive an 8-by- 10-inch photo.

A cocktail party with the soap stars will be later that evening at the Grand Pavilion, behind the Magnuson Grand Hotel, 9519 E. Market St. Tickets are $100.

Reservations are required. Those who purchase tickets before April 18 will be registered for a chance to win a pair of airline tickets, which will be given away at the luncheon.

Call Patti Tsagaris-Werynski at 727-210-5143 to make reservations by phone with a Visa or Mastercard. Checks (payable to 5 Star PBKJ Inc.) or money orders can be mailed to Patti Wierynski, 700 Starkey Ropad, Unit 712, Largo, FL 33771.

Werynski and Tsagaris discovered their love of soap operas while growing up in Warren. They began holding soap star appearances and in the Tampa, Fla., area, seven years ago.

A portion of the net proceeds from the May 18 event in Howland will benefit Someplace Safe, a shelter for battered women in Warren.
