WARREN

Legal problems continue for Leland R. Fritz III, a 19-year-old Leavittsburg man charged with making threatening remarks toward Champion High School students on Facebook.

Fritz returned for a second hearing in Warren Municipal Court on Thursday on a misdemeanor charge of inducing panic, but his case was continued until June 27 so he can attend anger- management counseling.

Fritz appeared before Judge Terry Ivanchak and briefly discussed an apology letter he wrote and agreed to stay away from Champion High School.

“There is a lot more work before we resolve your case,” Judge Ivanchak said.

Police said Fritz posted a comment on Facebook to a female friend in January in which he said he was “gonna go to jail, and the population of the school will decrease.”

Fritz said he posted the remark after the friend posted a comment complaining about how Champion students were treating her. Fritz and the friend both attended Trumbull Career and Technical Center at the time.

Fritz told police he was “just trying to stick up for his friend” and he “didn’t mean anything by it.”
