Jenni-Lin Remias, daughter of Denise Remias, is generous beyond her five years. The Hilltop Elementary kindergartner donated 14 inches of her hair to Locks of Love on March 14.

“I want my hair to go to a child who has cancer,” said Jenni-Lin.

Making it a family affair, Denise, Jenni-Lin, her grandmother, Norma, her aunt, Stephanie, and her cousin, Brianna, gathered at Panache Hair Salon in Boardman to witness the haircut. Hairdresser Kara Gaskill did the honors.

“We visited the Locks of Love web site and got the instructions to send in the hair for donation. The minimum is 10 inches and Kara was able to cut off 14 inches of Jenni-Lin’s hair, so we are good to go,” Norma Remias said.

In honor of Jenni-Lin donating her hair to Locks of Love, Gaskill waived the cost of the haircut.

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization which provides hairpieces to financially-disadvantaged children in the U.S. and Canada under 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.
