Active shooter training for educators Wednesday

NEW MIDDLETOWN

The New Middletown Police Department in cooperation with Springfield School District will host the Ohio Attorney General active shooter training for educators at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Springfield Intermediate Middle School auditorium on state Route 170.

The program will be part of the in-service waiver day and will be attended by the district’s 135 administrative staff, teachers, and employees.

Instruction will be provided by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy and will focus on identifying traits and warning signs that educators can use to predict potential threats and enact early intervention to prevent tragedy.
