Charges expected in Seattle crash into familys
SEATTLE (AP) — King County prosecutors are expected to file charges today against a driver who crashed into a family in Seattle, killing two people and leaving a mother and baby in critical condition.
Mark Mullan is held on $2.5 million bail for investigation of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.
Investigators say the 50-year-old Seattle man was driving under the influence of alcohol Monday when he hit the family crossing a street.
The crash killed 66-year-old Dennis Shulte and 68-year-old Judith Shulte, retired teachers from Kokomo, Ind., who moved to Seattle last month to see their first grandchild. The crash critically injured their 33-year-old daughter-in-law, Karina Schulte, and her 10-day-old son.
