Neighbor accuses Bieber of battery

CALABASAS, Calif.

A neighbor accused Justin Bieber on Tuesday of battery and making threats during an argument in Los Angeles, authorities said.

No one was arrested and few details were available. A representative of Bieber’s did not immediately return a request to comment.

Online schedules indicate the “Baby” singer is in the midst of a European tour and performed a show in Poland on Monday night.

Authorities were called to the Calabasas scene just after 9 a.m., said Steve Whitmore, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Crystal Bowersox eyes Broadway

NEW YORK

Former “American Idol” contestant Crystal Bowersox will officially be taking a walk after midnight on Broadway.

Producers of the Patsy Cline musical “Always ... Patsy Cline” said Tuesday that Bowersox, born in Elliston, Ohio, will portray the legendary country singer in a new production this summer in New York. John Rando will direct.

Performances begin in July with an August opening. The theater and exact dates haven’t been announced.

Singer Warwick files for bankruptcy

NEWARK, N.J.

Singer Dionne Warwick owes nearly $10 million in back taxes and has filed for bankruptcy.

In a Chapter 7 petition filed this month in New Jersey, Warwick lists liabilities that include nearly $7 million owed to the Internal Revenue Service for the years 1991 to 1999 and more than $3 million in business taxes owed to the state of California. Warwick lists her current address in South Orange.

The singer of classics such as “Walk On By,” “I Say a Little Prayer” and “Do You Know the Way to San Jose” lists about $21,000 in monthly income and the same amount in monthly expenses.

Usher, Fogerty in Rock Hall ceremony

CLEVELAND

Usher, Carole King, John Fogerty, Spike Lee, Harry Belafonte and others have been added to the list of performers and presenters for the next Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Heart, Randy Newman, Public Enemy and Rush also will perform when Donna Summer, Albert King, Quincy Jones and Lou Adler are inducted at an April 18 ceremony in Los Angeles.

Usher is performing for Jones. Fogerty and Jackson Browne will perform with Newman. King will perform for Adler and Cheech & Chong will induct him.

In a Seattle reunion, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready and Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell will perform with Heart, while Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell will induct them. Lee and Belafonte will pay tribute to Public Enemy.
