Youngstown businessman Bruce Zoldan says Animal Kingdom, the winner of the 2011 Kentucky Derby, will be one of the horses running in Sunday’s $10 million Dubai Cup.

Twelve other older thoroughbreds are entered in the prestigious race.

Zoldan, the CEO of B.J. Alan Fireworks and owner of the Youngstown Phantoms hockey tream, is a partner in the horse racing consortium Team Valor which owns Animal Kingdom.

In May 2011, Animal Kingdom won the Kentucky Derby and finished second in the Preakness Stakes. Three weeks later, Animal Kingdom stumbled at the start of the Belmont Stakes and suffered a leg injury that sidelined the horse for the rest of 2011.

The horse is trained by Graham Motion.
