Board OKs funds for wetlands

COLUMBUS
The state Controlling Board OK’d $35,300 for wetland mitigation and stream restoration at Camp Ravenna Joint Military Center firing range in Trumbull County.
According to documents, the project will include the removal of a dam and restoration of a creek at the site. Davey Resources Group of Kent is handling design services.
The area is used primarily for rifle training.
In other business, lawmakers released about $6,000 for design work for window and door replacement at the Youngstown Readiness Center. PM Architects of suburban Columbus was awarded the contract for the work.
According to documents, the center’s “windows and doors are leaking, no longer energy-efficient and replacement would be more cost-effective than repair. The commercial life expectancy of windows and doors is 20 years. Youngstown’s windows and doors were installed in 1981.”
Also Monday:
The Controlling Board released $150,000 for a road project in Wellsville in Columbiana County to support a company expansion. Hilcorp Energy Corp. has committed to creating a dozen full-time jobs as a result.
The lawmaker panel OK’d more than $17,000 for design and construction administration costs related to a generator replacement at Youngs- town Developmental Center in Mineral Ridge.
