Auto accident causes power outage in Niles

Police said a car accident near Eastwood Mall on Sunday afternoon knocked out power for many customers in the area.

A vehicle struck a utility pole at the intersection of U.S. Route 422 and North Road, causing the outage, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast news partner.

Information on injuries was not available Sunday night. Niles police said power had been restored to the majority of customers by 9 p.m.

Mill Creek MetroParks is soliciting public comments for an upcoming improvement project.

Slippery Rock Bridge, located at the southern end of Lake Glacier in Mill Creek Park, will have steel components painted along with other minor stone masonry repairs. Slippery Rock Bridge will not be closed to vehicular traffic when the project is under construction. This project is substantially funded by a Federal Highway Administration Transportation Enhancement Grant.
