The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW, hosts an evening of live jazz music starting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Jazz Trio performers are Don Yallech on drums, Dave Kana on saxophone and Jeff Bremer on bass. The concert is free. Reservations are not required.

The evening of jazz is in conjunction with “America’s Music: A Film History of Our Popular Music From Blues to Bluegrass to Broadway” series taking place April 2 through May 18 at the main library.

Sharon man killed in I-80 collision

One person was killed and a second injured after their van rolled over near the 6 mile marker on Interstate 80 in Mercer County late Saturday afternoon.

Pennsylvania State Police said Karl Magee, 44, of Sharon died after he lost control of his vehicle, went into a median and rolled over. Police said Magee was traveling west when he tried to pass a truck.

According to a release, Magee and his passenger, Darren Millhoff, 44, of Sharon, were both ejected from the vehicle. Police said neither Magee nor Millhoff was wearing a seat belt. The van came to rest in the I-80 eastbound lane. Magee was pronounced dead at the scene. Millhof was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown with moderate injuries.

The Columbiana County Health Department is offering the food-safety certification ServSafe class.

The two-day interactive class is at 7360 state Route 45. The first class will be offered April 22 and 23. The cost is $159.

Lincoln speech contest deadline April 15

Pennsylvania state Sen. Robert D. Robbins, R-50th, is urging all Pennsylvania public, nonpublic and private high-school students to participate in the “In Lincoln’s Footsteps” speech contest, marking the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address delivered Nov. 19, 1863.

The winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship, professional speech presentation training and an all-expense-paid trip to Gettysburg, Pa., for Dedication Day 2013. The winner will deliver his or her speech during the day’s ceremonies. The winner’s school will receive a collection of books related to Gettysburg and Abraham Lincoln and a banner recognizing the school and its winner.
