'In Lincoln's Footsteps' speech contest entries due by April 15


GREENVILLE, Pa.

Pennsylvania state Sen. Robert D. Robbins, R-50th, is urging all Pennsylvania public, nonpublic and private high school students to participate in the “In Lincoln’s Footsteps” speech contest, marking the 150th anniversary of the Gettyburg Address delivered on Nov. 19, 1863.

The winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship, professional speech presentation training and an all-expense paid trip to Gettysburg, Pa., for Dedication Day 2013. The winner will deliver their speech during the day’s ceremonies. The winner’s school will receive a collection of books related to Gettysburg and Abraham Lincoln, and a banner recognizing the school and its winner.

Entry deadline is April 15.
