The Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education and the Employers Resource Council of Mayfield Village will release the 2013 Intern & Recent Grad Pay Rates & Practices report in April, and preliminary findings demonstrate that internships and co-ops continue to be critical to employers’ talent pipelines in the region.
The annual survey is distributed to employers across Northeast Ohio.
Developing a talent pipeline is the No. 1 reason employers cite for hiring interns. More than two-thirds of respondents to the 2013 survey have offered full-time employment to at least some of their interns.
A lack of open positions is the top reason employers reported that they did not offer full-time employment.
NOCHE member institutions Cleveland State University, Cuyahoga Community College, Eastern Gateway Community College, Kent State University, Lorain County Community College, Stark State College, University of Akron and Youngstown State University received more than $3.2 million from the Ohio Board of Regents to expand internship and co-op opportunities in high-demand occupations across Northeast Ohio.
