Husted here Monday to encourage 18-year-olds to vote

WARREN

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted will participate in Democracy Day at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Warren JFK High School.

Democracy Day celebrates the 26th Amendment, which allowed 18-year-olds to vote. Husted hopes this event will help increase the number of 18-year-olds who are registered to vote in Ohio.

Husted is visiting high schools around the state to educate and inform students about the importance of voting with his Grads Vote program.

April 8 is the deadline to register to vote for the May 7 primary. Individuals may register if they will be 18 on or before Election Day.
