Sesame Street coming to Covelli

Ex-broadcaster takes post at WYSU

Youngstown

Former Mahoning Valley broadcast news reporter Tricia Perry has joined the staff of WYSU-88.5 FM as funding officer. She will be responsible for marketing and social media, grant writing and pursuing major gifts for the commercial-free station. Perry started her broadcasting career in 1988 with WHOT-FM and later moved on to WKBN radio and television. For nearly 20 years, she covered local and regional news, and received several journalism awards.

In 2008, Perry became the events coordinator for the Rich Center for Autism at Youngstown State University. While there, she became an adjunct faculty member in the communications department. Perry has been a board member of the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, Ballet Western Reserve, YWCA, and Poland Junior Women’s Club.
