Ohio man randomly attacked, beaten at Laundromat

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (AP) — Police are asking for the public’s help to solve a brutal and unprovoked beating of a man at a Laundromat in southwest Ohio.

Police say 57-year-old David Jones was minding his own business Sunday in Middletown when an attacker came up behind him without saying a word and started viciously hitting him in the head with a stick.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Jones was able to grab the suspect’s glasses and part of the weapon used to beat him before the attacker fled.

Jones was treated at a local hospital for head injuries that required 18 staples and five stitches.

Jones says he had never seen his attacker before in his life.
