Students at Dobbins Elementary School participated in many activities to celebrate Read Across America the week of Feb. 25. Read Across America week also coincided with famous children’s author, Dr. Seuss (Theodore Seuss Geisel), so many grades celebrated by reading Seuss’ books or making crafts with a Seuss-related theme.

Another way Dobbins celebrated was to host a pajama day to encourage reading, based on the idea of reading to children before bed. Children, teachers and administration at the school all showed their support by wearing their pajamas to school. Students in several classes made “Oobleck”, a putty-like substance that children could take home.
