Registration for the 10th Annual Woman’s Heart Day, a free health and wellness event offered by Humility of Mary Health Partners, opens April 1. Woman’s Heart Day is 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 9, at the Covelli Centre.

The event features free health screenings, fitness demonstrations, educational presentations on a variety of women’s health issues, cooking demonstrations, spa services, refreshments and giveaways.

Child immunity clinics in Warren

The Warren City Health Department Nursing Division, 418 Main Ave. S.W., is offering childhood immunization clinics April through June from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. each day on the following dates: April 1 and 27, May 6 and 20, June 3 and 17. No appointment is needed. The child should be well, free of fever, rash or illness. An updated shot record is required. A $10 fee is charged; Medicaid cards are accepted. Wear purple, raise funds for epilepsy

International Purple Day, a grass roots effort aimed at increasing awareness of epilepsy, is being celebrated in the Mahoning Valley on Tuesday by asking people to wear purple and support a Purple Pledge Jail fund-raiser at the Southern Park Mall from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Purple Pledge Jail imprisons volunteers for short periods of time to raise awareness and funds through the combined efforts of the local media and volunteers distributing literature to make people aware that Mahoning Valley Epilepsy exists to support people with seizure disorders in the tri-county area.

All gifts given to the Mahoning Valley Epilepsy Fund, Inc. are tax deductible, unrestricted donations that support agency programs for children, teens, adults and seniors affected by epilepsy.

Endovascular surgery lecture

HERMITAGE, PA.

Christopher Esper, DO, board-certified vascular surgeon with Horizon Surgical Associates-UPMC, is offering a free lecture on endovascular laser therapy, a minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins, on April 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Womancare Center of UPMC Horizon, 875 N. Hermitage Road.
