Rust Belt to host recycled-art event

YOUNGSTOWN

The Rust Belt Theater Company will present a celebration of music, food and recycled artwork this weekend at Calvin Center, 755 Mahoning Ave., near downtown. Admission is free.

Hours are noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The second annual event includes local musicians and artists.

The entertainment schedule for Saturday is as follows:

5 p.m.: Rayne Lee Blakeman

5:30 p.m.: We are Pirates!

6:30 p.m.: Nicole Zayas

8 p.m.: Rick Morrow

8:30 p.m.: Shiloh and Courtney

As part of the event, 10 local designers each created a “red carpet”-style evening gown out of repurposed materials.

The gowns will be on display throughout the weekend. Complimentary refreshments and hors d’ouevres will be served Saturday evening as well.
