Stop covering abuse claims

Stop covering abuse claims

I am angered by the press coverage of the supposedly abused men at Catholic Churches. Personally, I think this is nothing short of stealing on the part of the accusers and their attorneys.

I say this because I was abused as a 10- year-old child, and I would feel ashamed to try to win a huge cash settlement over something that never affected my life. At 10 years old, I put a stop to the abuse by threatening to tell my father, and from then on was on a path to maturity. These abusers come out of the woodwork years later when there is no way to prove or disprove their allegations.

I am also a little upset that the Catholic Church has to use some of the money I contribute to them to fight off these abuse claims. Why do pastors of other denominations not sued to the same extent that Catholic clergy are sued? Because other denominations do not have the money the Catholic Church has. I wish The Vindicator would stop writing stories about these supposed abuse issues.
