POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

March 10

Criminal mischief: A vehicle in the 6900 block of Blue Ridge Drive sustained damage.

BOARDMAN

March 15

Attempted assault: A township real-estate agent who is also the landlord of an apartment near Midlothian Boulevard told police the mother of a tenant whom the accuser was trying to evict tried to punch her.

Arrest: Police were called to an argument in the 4600 block of South Avenue, where they took into custody 22-year-old Daniel S. Krotky Jr., 134 Clifton Drive, Boardman. He was wanted on a Youngstown warrant charging obstructing official business.

Theft: A Poland girl, 15, was charged with stealing two bottles of dietary supplements from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road.

Damage: A Southern Boulevard man said that construction equipment damaged a portion of his yard and driveway.

Criminal damaging: A key likely was used to scratch a car’s front and rear passenger-side fenders and trunk lid at Southern Park Mall. The damage estimate was $600.

Domestic violence: Sean P. Fulkerson, 45, of 7027 Trenholm Road, Boardman, faced a charge after his former wife alleged Fulkerson had threatened several times to harm her during a prolonged argument.

Theft: Amanda M. Harding, 20, of 306 Boston Ave., New Castle, Pa., and Ryan L. Heath, also 20, of 50 High St., New Castle, were charged with stealing an Xbox hard drive and a cable from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: Desuan T. Williams of 151 Superior St., Youngstown, was charged. The 19-year-old Williams was accused of taking $480 worth of clothing from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Arrest: A traffic stop near Hillman Street led to the arrest of 35-year-old Robert J. Price, who listed Youngstown and Struthers addresses and who was wanted on a Campbell warrant charging failure to comply with terms of his probation.

Harassment: An Indianola Road woman said her former boyfriend threatened once to harm her and sent insulting statements to her via text message.

Criminal damaging: Someone damaged a 40-foot section of a chain-link fence in the 1200 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

Burglary: To a residence in the 1700 block of Lynn Mar Avenue by unknown means. Several business checks were missing and roughly $2,700 was removed from a safe.

Harassment: A Sheridan Road man told officers another man posted unflattering pictures of the accuser online.

Burglary: Took place in the 7400 block of Eagle Trail after someone pried open a rear sliding-glass door. Two handguns were taken.

Theft: Two subwoofers and other stereo equipment were removed from a car at Southern Park Mall.

Burglary: Someone forced open a rear window to a home in the 7400 block of Fox Hollow Drive, though nothing appeared to have been disturbed.

March 16

Domestic violence: Alfred Solis, 37, of 7410 West Blvd., Boardman, was charged with the crime after his father alleged Solis had pushed him down and choked him during an ongoing argument. The accuser had scratches and bruising.

Theft: Three cellphones were removed from AT&T in Southern Park Mall, costing the business $1,600.

Drugs: A traffic stop on Midlothian Boulevard led to a felony drug-possession charge against 23-year-old Stephanie A. Tate after police said that Tate, of 3175 Oak St. Ext., Youngstown, admitted having a bottle containing four pills but with no label or prescription.

Theft: John R. Spears, 38, of 574 Third Ave., East Liverpool, was charged with theft and possession of drug-abuse instruments after $189 worth of merchandise was stolen from Walmart. Spears, who also was wanted on a Trumbull County warrant charging larceny, admitted having a syringe in his pocket, a report showed.

March 17

Arrest: Police arrested 38-year-old Saleh M. Fawmawi, 5081 Aravesta Ave., Boardman, on a charge of violating a protection order during a child-custody exchange at a Boardman-Canfield Road store. Fawmawi showed up, then yelled obscenities at another person in violation of the order, a report said.

Domestic violence: Darell L. Edmonds, 35, of 4231 Chester Drive, Boardman, was charged with the crime after a woman alleged that during an argument, Edmonds threw a cup of juice at her and pushed her out the front door.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Wolosyn Circle woman said her boyfriend failed to return her 2002 Chevrolet Malibu.

Theft: Two women in their early to mid-20s stole three pairs of socks and two pairs of women’s shoes from Kmart.

Menacing: A worker for a Boardman-Poland Road big-box store reported an irate customer threatened to get someone to harm her after the accuser refused to exchange a $100 bill for him.

Aggravated menacing: A Glenwood Avenue woman told police of having received a series of threatening text messages.

Theft: A wallet was missing from a vehicle in the 4900 block of Southern Boulevard.

March 18

Arrests: While responding to a theft at Walgreens Pharmacy, 7295 Market St., authorities arrested a township boy, 17, as well as 18-year-old Corey A. Merrel, 6110 Market, Boardman, who was wanted on an apprehension order from Mahoning County Common Pleas Court charging him with rape. Both were charged with receiving stolen property related to the theft.
