Theater offers ‘The Earth Trembled’

Top Hat Productions will present its original Passion Play “The Earth Trembled” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and again March 29 and 30 at The Fairview Arts & Outreach Center, 4220 Youngstown-Poland Road.

The play give audiences a new understanding of the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, bringing the story to life on stage.

Now in its 21st season, “The Earth Trembled” was first performed in conjunction with St. Francis Cabrini and St. Mary’s Churches in Conneaut, when Top Hat operated as a touring production company.

For more than 10 years, the troupe traveled throughout the state, visiting churches and including members of those churches in supporting roles.

Some productions saw as many as 85 cast members on stage at one time.

“The Earth Trembled” stars Greg Endsley, Angel Febres, Rachell Joy, Robert Noble, Brian Palumbo, Julie Palumbo and Mark and Liz Samuel.

The production is free, but seating is limited.
