Farrell man gets 78-month prison term for cocaine trafficking

PITTSBURGH
A federal judge has sentenced a 48-year-old Farrell, Pa., man to 61/2 years in prison on a cocaine-trafficking charge.
U.S. District Court Judge Arthur J. Schwab imposed the sentence Thursday on Raymond Anthony Napolitan, who will be on five years of supervised release after he leaves prison.
The U.S. Attorney said Napolitan possessed with intent to distribute more than a pound of cocaine.
Napolitan was convicted in September by a six-man, six-woman jury that deliberated for about 31/2 hours.
The available sentencing range was five years to life in prison and up to a $1,250,000 fine, but the judge waived a fine because he said Napolitan was unable to pay. Judge Schwab made the federal sentence consecutive to a state court sentence that was imposed on Napolitan.
The case was investigated by the FBI; the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office; the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and drug task force; and Southwest Mercer County Regional Police.
