The Rev. Mike Swierz heard the exchange of vows between Laura Putarek and Brandon LaPoint during a wedding ceremony at 2 p.m. May 26, 2012, at St. Patrick Church.

After the newlyweds accepted congratulations at a reception at The Embassy in Boardman, they honeymooned in Italy and cruised to Greece and Turkey. They live in Holland, Ohio.

The bride is the daughter of Joseph and Marilyn Putarek of Poland. Parents of the groom are Lisa LaPoint and Doug Fountain, both of Toledo.

The bride’s gown was ruched organza featuring a sweetheart neckline with a fitted bodice. It was embellished with Swarovski crystals and complimented by a cathedral veil.

The bride’s cousin, Alise Baun, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Fountain, sister of the groom; Rachel Shurilla; Katie Christopher; and Desiree Cook. Kristen Eckman was junior bridesmaid. The attendants wore black dresses.

Brian Beaudoin performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Travis LaPoint, the groom’s brother; Michael Putarek, the bride’s brother; Karl LaPoint, the groom’s cousin; and Adam Ashman. Godson of the groom, Joey LaPoint, was ring bearer.

The bride earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Toledo.

The groom is a graduate of Owens College and is a journeyman tool and die maker with Basilius Inc. in Toledo.
