Dangers lurk on Valley roadways early Monday; winter weather advisory issued

CLEVELAND

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Mahoning Valley with peak dangers during Monday morning commutes.

In Trumbull and Columbiana counties, the advisory is in effect from 11 p.m. today until 2 p.m . Monday. In Mahoning County, the advisory lasts from 6 a.m. Monday to 11 a.m. Monday.

Ice accumulations of up to one-tenth of an inch and snowfall up to 2 inches are forecast.

The snow and freezing rain are expected to change to all rain by Monday afternoon.

A winter weather advisory means snow, sleet and rain will cause traffic difficulties, and drivers should exercise extreme caution.
