Learn how to make maple syrup

SLIPPERY ROCK, PA.

Jennings Environmental Education Center, 2951 Prospect Road, will explore the process of making maple syrup during a free event at 2 p.m. next Sunday.

Registration is not required, but guests are urged to come early to reserve a seat.

Guests will learn each step of the process, from the collection of maple sap to the completed bottle of syrup, how a maple tree functions and the benefits of the perennial giants.

A guided outdoor walk will lead to a working evaporator, where guests will taste real maple syrup.

A vendor will be on hand to offer local maple products.
