Village police make arrests

Staff report

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Police have been busy making arrests in what police Chief Vince D’Egidio calls an ongoing investigation into drug activity in the village.

Police charged Melissa Chester, 29, of New Middletown with possession of heroin and possession of drug-abuse instruments. She already is on probation for other drug charges, police said.

Police also arrested Christopher Grier, 28, of New Springfield along with Chester and charged him with criminal trespassing. The two will be arraigned in Struthers Municipal Court at a later date.

Police on Friday also arrested two people leaving a Struthers Road house that has been associated with drug activity.

Darrin Robinson, 30, of Youngstown was taken into custody after he tried to flee from police and is charged with fleeing police, possession of marijuana, obstructed view and no child restraint. Ruby Miller, 19, also of Youngstown, was arrested with Robinson and charged with falsification and for having two active drug warrants.

Police said Miller gave a fake name when questioned by police.
