SKYWARN training Wednesday in Austintown

AUSTINTOWN

Mahoning County amateur radio operators host a SKYWARN training event Wednesday in Fitch High School auditorium, 4560 Falcon Drive. Sign-in will take place at 5:15 p.m. and training begins at 6 p.m.

SKYWARN is a nationwide network of volunteers trained by the National Weather Service to report significant weather. Amateur radio operators who attend the event will be taught to access SKYWARN Net, allowing them to report incidents of severe local weather and be directly heard at the National Weather Service.
