POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

March 6

Burglary: To a residence in the 7400 block of Struthers Road through a rear door. About 50 feet of copper piping was removed.

March 7

Harassment: A Bedford Road woman said she had been harassed.

March 9

Trespassing: Someone trespassed on a piece of property in the 8500 block of Raintree Run Drive.

March 10

Criminal mischief: A vehicle was damaged in the 6900 block of Blue Ridge Drive.

BOARDMAN

March 8

Arrest: A traffic stop on Market Street led to the arrest of Megan M. Thompson, 27, who listed Boardman and Liberty addresses. She was wanted on a charge of failure to appear in court.

Drugs: Authorities in the 8100 block of Market Street picked up 22-year-old Nicholas A. Elmo, 45 Gilian Lane, Boardman, on a misdemeanor drug-possession charge. Elmo also was issued minor-misdemeanor citations charging possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

Arrest: Police in the 1100 block of Boardman-Canfield Road stopped 28-year-old Melissa D. Sullivan, 408 Lafayette Ave., Niles, who was wanted on a warrant from that city charging theft.

Arrest: Police dealing with a disturbance at a Tiffany Boulevard motel charged 29-year-old Charlie R. Allegretto with felony obstructing official business and assault on a police officer as well as one misdemeanor count each of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after alleging the intoxicated Bellefonte, Pa., man had grabbed one officer’s neck and pushed him toward a wall and kicked another officer in the chest and legs as he tried to make the arrest. A stun gun was needed to bring Allegretto under control, a report showed.

Theft: Two women in their early to mid-20s stole 20 to 30 items from Dollar General, 5953 South Ave.

Criminal mischief: A woman in the 1800 block of Massachusetts Avenue discovered someone had removed and tossed her bird feeders to the ground.

Theft: A $30 teeth-whitening system was taken from a display shelf at Tan-Fastic, a tanning salon at 813 Boardman-Poland Road.

Criminal damaging: A key mark was found on a car’s rear quarter panel in the 8000 block of Spartan Drive.

Harassment: A Ewing Road man told officers he received a series of unwanted calls referring to inquiries for service estimates that he had never requested.

Theft: A North Royalton man reported a jacket stolen while at a South Avenue restaurant.

Criminal mischief: John T. Dubiel Jr., 18, of 669 Angiline Drive, Boardman, faced a criminal-mischief charge after an employee with Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road, reported a man had deliberately thrown and broken two one-gallon containers of milk, then pretended to fall to the floor.

Theft/drug paraphernalia: Jennifer A. Park, 35, of 714 County Line Road, New Castle, Pa., and Morris W. Haas, who listed New Castle and Struthers addresses, were charged in the theft of a $35 DVD player and two packs of women’s shirts from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive. Park also was charged with having a hypodermic needle and two spoons with suspected heroin residue.

Arrest: Police responded to a man at a Market Street gas station who reported a stolen cellphone before taking into custody 24-year-old James E. Cox, 79 Indianola Road, Boardman. He was wanted on three misdemeanor warrants from Austintown charging theft, domestic violence and criminal trespassing.

Theft of services: Someone left two loveseats and a dresser next to a trash bin in the 5000 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Theft: Five men around age 30 left Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, 6691 South Ave., without paying their $70.24 food bill.

Theft: A Florida man who owns a residence in the 4500 block of Simon Road found out a washing machine and dryer, a refrigerator and a gas stove were missing.

Criminal damaging: A woman in the 300 block of West Midlothian Boulevard reported another woman used a crowbar to break the windshield of the accuser’s vehicle.

Theft: Numerous pieces of jewelry were taken from a nightstand in the 50 block of Maple Drive.

Arrest: Authorities responded to a report of an intoxicated customer at a Market Street bank, where they charged Sonya L. Shannon of 348 Kenmore Ave., Youngstown, with disorderly conduct and public intoxication. The 33-year-old Shannon refused to cooperate with police and caused a scene in part by arguing with and swearing at a teller, a report said.

March 9

Indecency: A woman driving on Interstate 680 told police a man in a vehicle next to hers exposed himself.

Auto theft: A 1996 Oldsmobile vehicle was stolen in the 800 block of Cook Avenue.

Theft: Niles police handed to township authorities 38-year-old Andrea C. Davidson, 439 Manchester Ave., Youngstown, who was wanted on charges of theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor related to a January theft at Dollar General, 5953 South Ave.

Intimidation: A Shields Road man who had filed a police report reported at least four males in a dark-colored sport utility vehicle knocked on his door, causing the accuser to fear for his safety.

Assault: A Glenwood Avenue woman alleged her boyfriend picked her up and slammed her into a wall after accusing her of taking his apartment keys.

Arrest: An officer working a security detail at Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive, reported having seen an underage person buy alcohol before police later apprehended 20-year-old Jeffrey A. Bachani, 708 Indianola Road, Boardman, on two counts of obstructing official business and one each of theft, possession of drug-abuse instruments and underage consumption of alcohol. Bachani led authorities on a foot chase and was found with a needle for injecting heroin, a report said.

Domestic violence: John D. Milakovich, 25, was charged with a felony count after his mother alleged Milakovich, of 7526 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, had grabbed her from behind, squeezed her mouth and nose and threatened to kill everyone in the residence. His charge was a felony because of a prior assault conviction, a report showed.

Arrest: A domestic dispute in the 1300 block of Boardman-Poland Road led to 33-year-old Horace T. Agee’s arrest on a charge of disorderly conduct while intoxicated. Agee, of 1020 Star St., Youngstown, became irate and refused to cooperate with police, they said.

Domestic violence: Donald N. Packner Jr., 29, of 441 Elm St., Struthers, was charged with the crime after his wife, of Boardman, alleged Packner had pushed her as she tried to call authorities.

Drugs: Police on Market Street pulled over 31-year-old Yashieya T. Colvin, who listed Youngstown addresses on South Whitney and East Florida avenues. She was wanted on a felony heroin-possession charge.

March 10

Arrest: Police responded to a vehicular accident near Aylesboro and Glenwood avenues before citing Mark D. Neuberger of 7421 West Blvd., Boardman, on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, as well as having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Theft: Two women stole a $128 scooter and $100 worth of groceries from Walmart.

Domestic violence: A charge was pending against a 25-year-old man after his former girlfriend, of Boardman-Canfield Road, alleged he had grabbed and pushed her to the ground during an argument. The accuser complained of soreness to her lower back and dizziness.

Arrest: A traffic stop near Market Street resulted in a charge of operating a vehicle impaired against 51-year-old Victoria M. Delbene, 29 W. Second St., Girard.

Harassment: A Hopkins Road woman reported receiving such a text message and that someone in a vehicle sat in her driveway for several minutes.

March 11

Theft: Two gold diamond rings were stolen from a residence in the 700 block of Crestview Drive.

Domestic violence: Raymond D. Sykes, 24, of 155 Wirt St., Youngstown, faced a felony charge after a West Midlothian Boulevard woman alleged he had choked and slapped her at a Hillman Way business. The charge was upgraded to a felony because the accuser was pregnant, police said.

Theft: April L. Wagner, 35, and Billie A. Pitt, 62, both of Canton, faced theft charges after 46 DVDs valued at $963 were stolen from Walmart. Wagner also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Theft: A man reported prescription medications missing from his Lockwood Boulevard home.

Misuse of a credit card: A Nevada Avenue man found two unauthorized charges to his account totaling about $20.

Attempted misuse of a credit card: A worker for a Boardman-Canfield Road doctor’s office learned someone in Illinois had tried to make a $200 purchase with his card.

Theft: A Glenwood Avenue woman alleged a home-health-care aide stole $37 from a bedroom.

Misuse of a credit card: A Market Street woman found out $100 had been withdrawn from her account without permission.

March 12

Criminal damaging: A Paxton Road man told police his former girlfriend used a key to cause extensive damage to his car’s driver’s side. The damage estimate was $3,000.
