J.C. Penney store reopened at Southern Park Mall

BOARDMAN — The J.C. Penney store at the Southern Park Mall reopened today after construction problems forced the retailer to close Wednesday.

An employee at the store confirmed the store opened for its regularly scheduled hours.

It was unclear what led to Wednesday’s closure, but a spokesman for the company confirmed that ongoing renovations, part of a nationwide effort to remake the store’s image, prompted management to go forward with the closure due to air-quality issues.
