Lordstown’s Cash named All-Ohio first-teamer

Sarah Cash of Lordstown, the Northeast Inland District player of the year in Division IV, was named to the All-Ohio first team by the Associated Press on Tuesday.

A 6-foot-2 junior, Cash averaged 22.5 points and 17 rebounds for the Red Devils, 20-5 and co-champions of the Northeastern Athletic Conference Stripes Division.

Champion senior Mackenzie Kiser, who averaged 19.3 points and 14.6 rebounds, earned second team honors in Division III.

Lowellville senior Kaye Solak, a 15-point per game scorer for the Rockets, was a third team choice in Division IV.

Special mention honorees from area schools include Tanaya Beacham of Ursuline and Emily Zehentbauer of United in Division III, and Khylea Fullum of Columbiana, Ashley Harrison of Crestview and Ally Jones of Bristol in Division IV.

Urusline’s Sydney Beasley was an honorable mention choice in Division III along with Brooke Barreca of Newton Falls and Courtney Hydrick of United. In Division IV, Lowellville’s Rachel Durbin was honorable mention along wth Pam Pierce of Lisbon and Allison Bell and Brooke Dawson, both of Maplewood.

State player of the year in Division IV was Abby Siefker of Ottoville. In Division III there was a tie between Hannah Plybon of Orrville, Terra Stapleton of Proctorville Fairland and Marley Hill of Columbus Africentric.
