Students today leaders Forever A brief look
About 30 North Dakota State University students who are part of a nonprofit organization called Students Today Leaders Forever were in Youngstown on Monday to perform community-service projects as part of a nine-day Pay it Forward Tour that is to wrap up this week in Washington, D.C. Some facts about the organization:
STLF was founded in September 2003 at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
The group’s first tour was in March 2004.
Main objectives are encouraging participants’ leadership skills through service projects, action and forming positive relationships, with the goal of encouraging them to be catalysts for positive change in their lives and communities.
More than 17,300 students have served roughly 238,000 volunteer hours on 434 Pay it Forward tours.
STLF members also host campus events such as talent shows, blood drives and Week of Kindness gatherings.
