Arts event to help aid renovation

YOUNGSTOWN
Ballet Western Reserve and Oakland Center for the Arts will present “Building Art 4” at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Morley Arts Building, 218 W. Boardman St.
The program will showcase the building where the organizations create their art.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for students and seniors.
Original pieces, choreographed by BWR faculty, will be performed by BWR dancers. James McClelland will sing favorites to the piano accompaniment of Norman Toot, and guests will hear a classical strings quartet throughout the evening.
As people explore the building they will enjoy 50 years of BWR history in photographs and special pieces created for the ballet by local artist Chris Yambar.
Oakland Center for the Arts will present excerpts from recent performances.
The evening will conclude with hors d’oeuvres. Wine and nonalcoholic beverages also will be served.
A “Dinner for the Year” basket with gift cards from local establishments will be raffled, and two Nanette Lepore dresses will be auctioned.
All proceeds will support repairs and renovations of the Morley Arts Building.
