Autopsy scheduled on remains found in backyard

JERSEY SHORE, Pa. (AP) — An autopsy is scheduled on the remains of a man whose decomposing body was found buried in a backyard in central Pennsylvania, and the homeowner remains in custody.

The Williamsport Sun-Gazette reports the autopsy is scheduled for today. The owner of the home in Jersey Shore, Glenn A. Jackson, has been in jail since Thursday on charges of abusing a corpse and tampering with physical evidence.

Investigators say he may face more serious charges depending on the autopsy results.

State police arrived at his house Thursday looking for Michael Krauser, Jackson’s friend who disappeared Feb. 4.

Police say they interviewed two of Jackson’s friends who said Jackson had told them he buried Krauser in his basement. A police dog led authorities to the remains, which haven’t been officially identified.
